Fred "Reddy Red" Hampton

Hey! My name is Reddy Red! But today, I am Fred Hampton!
You may know me for being a leader in the Black Panther Party!
Black Panther Party – An Organization originally organized to protect African American Neighborhoods from police brutality.
I was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 30th, 1948 and passed on December 4th, 1969.

My first organized protest was in high school! I led the school’s Interracial Committee and protested the school for only nominating white girls for homecoming queen, which resulted in the inclusion of black girls!
In 1967, I led the Youth Council of the Chicago NAACP’s West Suburban Chapter growing membership to 500 members.
In 1968, at just age 20, I helped found the Illinois Chapter of the Black Panther Party.

As a leader of the Black Panther Party, I organized free breakfast and health clinics. I also led the formations of the Rainbow Coalition!
Today, I am Fred Hampton! And so are you!
